RES Exam Results & What Happens Next (2026)
You've sat both papers — nice work. Once the relief wears off, most people have the same questions: when do results come out, what if I need to appeal, and what actually happens once I pass? This guide walks through the whole post-exam timeline so there are no surprises. Because the authorities update rules, fees and dates from time to time, always confirm the current details on cea.gov.sg and res.ntuclearninghub.com.
When do RES exam results come out?
You'll be notified of your RES examination results in about 4 to 6 weeks after the exam. Results are issued by NTUC LearningHub(the exam administrator), so there's nothing you need to do in the meantime — keep an eye on your email and your NTUC LearningHub account when the window approaches.
Nothing to do while you wait
What the result looks like
Each paper is marked independently and you need 60% to pass each one. There are three possible outcomes:
- Passed both papers — you've cleared the RES exam and can move to registration.
- Passed one paper only — you re-sit just the failed paper at a later sitting (more below).
- Did not pass either — you re-sit both at a future sitting.
For a refresher on the marking and structure, see our RES exam format & pass mark guide.
The appeal window
If you want a review of your result, you can submit an appeal — but the window is short:
- Appeals are submitted on NTUC LearningHub's website.
- You have 5 working days from the release of results to apply.
- An appeal fee applies (S$87.20 incl. GST at the time of writing — confirm the current figure).
Don't miss the 5-day window
Once you pass: registering as an RES
Passing the exam is a milestone, not the finish line. To actually practise as a salesperson, you must register as a Real Estate Salesperson (RES) through a licensed estate agency. A few things worth knowing:
- You have up to 2 yearsfrom passing the RES exam to register. After that, the exam pass is no longer valid for registration and you'd have to sit it again.
- Registration is done through the estate agency you join, which submits your application — you don't register directly yourself.
- So there's no rush to decide which agency to join; take the time to choose the right fit.

If you passed only one paper
Passing one paper isn't a wasted sitting. You re-sit only the failed paper at a subsequent sitting, at the modular re-sit fee, as long as your Certificate of RES Course Completion is still valid. That means you can focus all your prep on a single paper.
The most efficient way to close the gap is targeted practice on that paper's weak spots — drill questions by topic, lock the numbers with the one-page cheat sheet, and sit a free timed mockto confirm you're back above 60%.
The next RES sittings
The RES exam runs roughly 3–4 times a year, with sittings about four months apart (Paper 1 on Saturday, Paper 2 on Sunday, each at 9.30am). The published 2026 sittings are:
| Sitting | Paper 1 (Sat) | Paper 2 (Sun) |
|---|---|---|
| March 2026 | 14 Mar | 15 Mar |
| July 2026 | 18 Jul | 19 Jul |
| Oct/Nov 2026 | 31 Oct | 1 Nov |
If you're re-sitting or just starting out, our study plan and daily lessons will get you exam-ready — and you can practise the whole syllabus by topic any time.
Quick recap
- Results: ~4–6 weeks after the exam, via NTUC LearningHub.
- Appeals: within 5 working days of results (fee applies).
- Once you pass: register via a licensed agency, within 2 years.
- Passed one paper: re-sit only the failed paper while your course cert is valid.
Whatever your result, you've got options — and if there's another paper to clear, a free account and focused practice will get you there.
